Professional Learning Workshop 1 - Introduction to Botany
Welcome to the first session of our botany series with Jessica Moulynox, a qualified ethnobotanist. An introduction to botany is the beginning of understanding the plant world around us. In this session, we explore basic plant structure, how plants grow, life cycles, pollination, and why plants are essential for food, medicine, habitat, and clean air. Connecting with our natural world helps us slow down, observe closely, and build respect for living systems. For teachers and outdoor facilitators, this knowledge builds confidence, supports curriculum links, and provides meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and care for the environment.
